Two businesswomen, who went out on their own a year ago, setting up a recruitment agency, are celebrating their 1st birthday. Louise Raza and Kerrie Wiseman launched L&K Consultancy on April 13th 2004 and to mark a successful year of business, colourful balloons were handed out to clients on the exact anniversary. Louise said their aim to bring back cost-effective recruitment into the local business community and ensure that the "candidate is king" had proved worthwhile as business was booming. "We have done really well after a year. We didn't expect to have been so well received, but large local companies have been using our services and have been very impressed", said Louise. The agency is run by just the two women, who have 14 years experience between them in the recruitment industry. Their disillusionment with the workings of national agencies prompted them to set up their own local firm, based at Weston Business Centre in Parsonage Road, Takeley. They charge a flat percentage fee for clients and a flat fee for project-based recruitment.
