Good Evening, This time last year I was en route to Mauritania to join a Dragoman Overland exploratory journey. The experience was quite extraordinary and a more refreshingly alternative 12 days of Christmas would be hard to determine. However, I have to admit my wife and I didn't really see eye to eye on this point. Protesting that 'it really was the best time to be in the Mauritanian Sahara' didn't elicit much seasonal good will either. 'Bah Humbug!' would be an generous and archaic alternative to the rather coarse contemporary appreciation she gave freely and often. So Christmas 2006 approaches and though I may still find myself in 'the place of winds'. This time, it'll be down to the combination of an exotic stuffing mix, roast parsnips and too much Tesco cava, not proximity to the warm Saharan breezes of Nouakchott. 2007 will see me inflicting more bad French (I know no other kind) on innocent West Africans, that's for sure. Though perhaps the man in red and his team need to come up with a suitably sybaritic sojourn a deux to maintain New Year karma. Time to wrap this up... This week's website of the week - apologies if it's old hat but hey, it's Christmas - is http://wwwwww.businessballs.com/airtrafficcontrollersfunnyquotesairtrafficcontrollersfunnyquotes.htm That's all for now Have a good week.
Best, Nick
