After 35 years of leading adventure camping tours North American specialist TrekAmerica has decided to give non-campers a chance to join in the adventure, with the introduction of an active and adventurous lodging programme. If you thought Caribbean cruising was the domain of sedentary retired couples think again! Explore ancient Mayan civilisations, tropical rain forests and pristine Caribbean beaches in of Mexico, Guatemala & Belize during a 16-day Caribbean Cruisin’ tour departing from Cancun 16th April 2007. The mystical journey begins with visits to Chichén Itzá and Uxmal, before travelling to Belize and a boat to the idyllic tropical island of Caye Caulker to explore the diverse marine life of the coral reef. Next up, Guatemala and a guided tour of the sky-high jungle pyramids of World Heritage site Tikal, arguably the most spectacular ruins in the Mayan world. Return to sub-tropical jungle location of Belize’s San Ignaçio, making explorations by canoe down the peaceful Macal River. Back to Mexico for a refreshing swim in Cenote Azul, followed by more archaeological wonder at the ruins of Tulum, one of the best preserved coastal Mayan Cities. Settle into a Caribbean coast hotel for the last few days to snorkel, swim and scuba-dive amongst the pristine tropical turquoise waters and coral reefs of this beautiful paradise, before returning to Cancun and the finale to this Mayan adventure.
