OZ CAMPING ADVENTURE
Spring into adventure during an 11-day City to the Reef camping adventure with Let’s Trek Australia, exploring Australia’s legendary East Coast beaches and spectacular Great Barrier Reef, from Sydney to Cairns departing Sydney 13th March 2007.
Though it’s hard to leave the beautiful harbour-city of Sydney, the incentive of a short drive north to hook up with cute Koalas at a Koala and wildlife sanctuary makes the parting easier to bear! Travel further north through Coffs Harbour for chill-out time at Byron Bay and vibrant Surfers Paradise. Spend two full days on Moreton Island on a 4WD adventure, staying in an island fisherman’s cabin or lodge. Crossing into the Tropic of Capricorn, arrive in Airlie Beach, set amongst the Whitsundays 74 tropical Islands. Brandishing sunscreen and swimming attire, it’s a tough choice between a day of picturesque fast Maxi yacht sailing, an exploration of the underwater observatory and several of the island resorts, jet skiing or just relaxing around the pool. Heading further north along the coast, there’s more choices to be made at Mission Beach - adrenaline-pumping white-water rafting, a leisurely day trip to Dunk Island, unsurpassed hiking in the rainforest or tandem skydiving. Arriving at Cairns, a full day cruising the Great Barrier Reef, scuba diving (no experience necessary), snorkelling or feeding tame fish in one of the world’s richest reef ecosystems is a fantastic finale to a great adventure.
The City to the Reef tour now costs £574 p/p plus AU$65 (~£26) food kitty, this includes all transport in an air-conditioned minibus, all camping accommodation, 2-day 4WD Moreton Island tour, full day cruise to Outer Barrier Reef, entrance to Koala Sanctuary and services of a Let’s Trek Australia tour leader. Flights are not included but are available through Let’s Trek Australia.
