HEART OF THE DESERT FAMILY VALENTINE’S ADVENTURE
Valentine’s Day still brings romance into family life, so why not include the kids on an alternative dune quest amongst the sands of the Moroccan Sahara. Casablanca may be some way distant but learning to ride a camel Arabian-style, haggling for ‘treasures’ in the souks and sleeping under glistening desert stars certainly paints a romantic picture. Families Worldwide offer two 8-day Moroccan tours over Valentine’s Day, departing London 10th and 11th February 2007.
SAHARA DUNE ADVENTURE – 8-days, departing London 10th February 2007
Join a team of Berbers and camels to be led into the desert where children will find novel thrills in the world’s largest sandpit. Cross the Drâa Valley and experience real desert trekking as you master the art of camel riding. Reach the highest dunes in Morocco at Chagaga and then on Valentine’s Day arrive at the delightful tented auberge of Chez Pacha at Ouled Driss: a private ‘Bedouin-style’ camp with a swimming pool shaded by palm trees. The tour costs £779 p/p (adults), £669 p/p (children 5-11yrs) plus a local payment of £100 p/p, including scheduled flights, transfers, all transport on tour, accommodation in hotels, tented auberge and desert camps with most meals and the services of experienced guides and camels.
A WALK IN THE WESTERN ATLAS – 8-days, departing London 11th February 2007
This trip explores the beautiful villages and valleys nestled in the mountains above Taroudant with mules to carry bags and any tired children. Valentine’s Day is spent in a remote Berber village amongst peaks of the Atlas Mountains. The views are awesome and colours vary from green valleys to rocky red mountains with peaks dusted by snow. Only the goat bells and the call to prayer disturb the silence. Accommodation is provided in simple village houses, offering an insight into the lives of the people. The tour costs £799 p/p (adults), £719 p/p (children 2-11) plus a local payment of £100 p/p, including scheduled flights, all transfers, accommodation in hotels, riad/guest house and village house, most meals and the services of an experienced tour leader and local guides.
