ZAMBEZI SAUSAGE SIZZLER!
ZAMBIA’S SAUSAGE TREE CAMP IS NO. 1 ON THE BBC’S HOLIDAY PROGRAMME
“10 BEST LUXURY” DESTINATIONS OF THE WORLD
Sausage Tree Camp offers a truly personalised safari experience. Situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, each tent has its own personal Muchinda (butler) to attend to your every whim and an open-air en-suite bathroom. Wildlife Worldwide is offering the chance to experience this premier camp and the wildlife of the Lower Zambezi National Park during a 7-night holiday, departing London 30th March 13th April and 4th May 2007.
The Lower Zambezi National Park is undoubtedly exceptionally beautiful, set against the backdrop of the steeply rising Zambezi Escarpment, however its most memorable feature must be the river itself, which attracts a wide range of wildlife. Elephant, Cheetah, Lion, Leopard and huge herds of Cape Buffalo are all resident, together with Impala, Baboon, Hippo and Nile Crocodile. Sausage Tree Camp is a simply designed tented camp offering accommodation in six luxurious, white Bedouin-style tents, virtually hidden from one another and shaded by mature Sausage and Mahogany trees. The tents are cool and private with sumptuous four-poster beds, crisp white fabrics and flowing white mosquito nets. Devoid of fences, Elephant frequently walk through the camp - snacking on the fruit of the Sausage tree as they pass! A typical day at the camp includes an early morning game drive (best time to view wildlife), a hearty brunch followed by a short siesta then an opportunity to take part in one of many activities on offer: walking safaris; boat trips; fishing; and canoeing. In the evening, take a river safari followed by dinner in the camp’s central bar overlooking the Zambesi’s channels dotted with water lilies and pods of Hippos. Included in the holiday is a 2-day stay at Victoria Falls, staying at the luxurious Royal Livingstone Hotel. The hotel’s wooden platform projecting out over the Zambezi River is, without doubt, the best place to view the Falls.
The 7-night holiday costs from £2,995p/p (30th March £3,095p/p) including BA flights from LHR, all transfers, 5-nights full-board accommodation at Sausage Tree Camp including game viewing activities, 2-nights B&B at the Royal Livingstone Hotel and expertly guided wildlife viewing.
