Good Afternoon,
Everyone, excepting unreconstructed singletons, must know that spouse management is an essential skill for most of us associated with 'travel'.
Having lined up a couple of short but interesting jaunts, it became apparent that trouble was brewing across the dinner table... Little things, like not laughing at my oldest and best jokes, highlighting my poor performance in household duties and in the morning, hurling my car keys with the speed of a ninja and the devastating accuracy of Declan Hegarty.
Result? I've booked the Redmayne family on holiday charter flights to Cyprus for Easter. This may not seem like an unusual act, but for almost 20 years, apart from the occasional furtive kebab in Kings Cross (see previous Press Digest) my Cypriot experience has been limited to 8 hours in Limassol port area. Enough time to witness a fight between Stavros and Demis Roussos and be showered in Turkish, sorry Greek, Coffee and fag ash. However, an enduring disincentive to visit this holiday island has been its status as country of domicile for my sister. Great fun, interesting guest, fine dinner companion and hell to live with... Previously only my O-level French teacher managed to similarly effect a mental cordon sanitare around a whole nation...
So, on the home front not so much a compromise more a capitulation...
Anyhow it's ephkaristo and kalinihta compadre
Nicos
In fairness this week's website of the week has to be http://wwwwww.visitcyprus.org.cy/
