Grab your bags along with a saving of £100 and head off into the African wilds… Equine Adventures offers a last minute a 10-day horse back safari through Songimvelo Game Reserve, departing London 21st April 2007.
On arrival at Dawsons Lodge, guests experience their first ride before sundown, returning to the lodge for fine dining and a good night’s sleep in preparation for adventures to come. Head for the incredible surroundings of Songimvelo Game Reserve, where over the next five days, guides will take riders to different but equally breathtaking areas of one of South Africa’s most outstanding reserves. With magnificent mountains straddling the Swazi border and game-filled plains, riders encounter indigenous animals such as Elephant, Buffalo, White Rhino, Giraffe and a variety of antelope species. After an early start and a morning of challenging riding over a varied terrain with steep climbs and descents, horses and riders cool off and enjoy a refreshing river crossing before a relaxing picnic lunch by the well-populated hippo pools. On return to Windhoek Base Camp, a bucket shower is the height of luxury before a candle-lit supper under the brilliant African Milky Way. On the final day ride into Ebustsini Village, once again taking in the dramatic scenery, to enjoy an afternoon of relaxation in one of the traditional rondavels, and an evening featuring local entertainment and superb Swazi cuisine.
This safari costs £2,165 p/p (normally £2,265 p/p) including scheduled international flights, transfers, lodge, tented camp and fly camp accommodation, all meals, horse, tack and guided activities. Ride only costs £1,300 p/p (normally £1,400 p/p). Due to the nature of the terrain and wildlife encountered this is for intermediate or experienced riders.
