The marmite of my life is spread somewhat thinly right now, so a self indulgent and salty rant may be a crust too far.
So many tasks to perform that each one seems to distract from the other. Perhaps it's the man's brain thing again. Was there ever a world where life could be sustained by such simple masculine endeavours as putting the bin out, removing errant beetles from the bath or reaching the high shelf?
Forget 'hunting for food', 'protecting the family', 'searching out new life and new civilisations'. As the indignity of Captain Kirk's TV endorsement of breakfast cereal proves, going boldly doesn't pay a pension.
