Naturetrek - Press Release

A FINE TIME TO BE IN…
THE SPANISH PYRENEES

Specialist operator Naturetrek offers an 8-day birdwatching and botanical tour of the Spanish Pyrenees departing London 20th or 27th May 2007.

The Spanish Pyrenees forms a 450-kilometre barrier between France and Spain offering a variety of dry Mediterranean habitats. Guests are accommodated in a 17th century Aragones farmhouse in the unspoilt village of Berdun with expatriate English host John Boucher who has enjoyed living in the area for the past 20 years. From this base daily forays are made in search of native flora and fauna. Avian highlights are European Bee-eaters, Golden Orioles, Woodchat Shrikes and over 20 different species of birds of prey including Lammergeier, Griffon and Egyptian Vultures. The tour departures are designed to coincide with the botanical best of spring and early summer giving guests an opportunity to enjoy the high meadows carpeted with gentians and Pyrenean buttercups. A fine time to be in Europe.

The tour cost £985 p/p including scheduled flights, full board accommodation and expert guiding.
