Good Day to all,
Another catalogue of news and product from our client list awaits your click below.
In addition, I have in the office an emailable document from Trips Worldwide detailing new Latin America product. If you'd like a copy just drop me a line.
Bradt's new Slovakia guide is the ONLY dedicated English language guide to Slovakia - review copies on request. Zagreb is in the pipeline - due anytime now.
Dragoman Overland's new tour allows travellers to get on the road for Malawi's Lake of Stars festival. There has been a fair amount of editorial about music festivals that transcends the inevitable sea of faux hippy trippers lurking in the equally predictable mud of Glastonbury. Dragoman Overland has run West African music tours for a while now and this new Southern Africa tour builds upon that success - it's the real thing, Status Quo's roadies had nothing to match this gig!
Magic of the Orient's Bali deal features a couple of excellent Alila hotels. I know a lovely girl who works for Alila in Australia, mention these lot and my next Ozzy holiday accommodation is in the bag! Well, it was worth asking...
Those well-know hell-raisers, the Swiss, are at again in Zurich, with Switzerland's largest festival. Rush there now, just keep to the speed limits and careful how you go. See Lakes & Mountains Holidays.
An early Spring seems to have Romania's Bear population out of bed early, hopefully not via the wrong side - See Wildlife Worldwide.
Families Worldwide and Walks Worldwide have holidays for families and teachers - still pockets of availability for difficult dates. Let me know if you need anything specific.
Peregrine Adventures and Naturetrek have European spring tours - botanising and walking in Italy and cycling in France. It's a time when Europe really sings with the pleasures of life. Go now!
Finally, Equine Adventures' new Mexico horseback tour has excellent availability for May. At the reins is Fran Griffith, possessed of an encyclopedic equestrian knowledge. Call me if you'd like to speak to her.
That's it everything twice I know, but there we go.
This week's website of the week is a trailer for the Life Of Brian . I was put in mind of the extent of the Roman Empire at the weekend whilst walking up on Hadrian's Wall. What have the Romans ever done for us? Answer: Given Northumberland Britain's number one ancient monument according to USA Today, that's what!
Blessed are the cheese makers
Have a good week.
Best,
Nick

| Slovakia FIRST EDITION
Cost £14.99
Bradt’s first edition guidebook, and indeed the only title dedicated to Slovakia, opens with author Lucy Mallows claiming in exasperation; ‘If one more person asks me how it was in Ljubljana, I think I’ll scream.’ After 14 years of independence, Slovakia is still confused with Slovenia or inadvertently reconciled with the Czech Republic and isn’t getting the attention it deserves. Mallows hopes her guidebook will go some way to remedying this. |

| NO NAPPING IN BEAR TERRITORY EARLY BEAR ACTIVITY REPORTED IN ROMANIA
Cost £895
There have been many indications to suggest spring has arrived early this year, especially in Europe’s Brown Bear community, where some bears have stopped hibernating altogether, or at the very least cut short their winter slumbers. In Romania, home to Europe’s largest concentration, bears have been particularly active, much earlier than usual, making them far easier to spot. See for yourself by joining natural history specialist Wildlife Worldwide’s 4-day tour, tracking Brown Bears and Wolves in and around Piatra Craiului National Park in Romania’s Carpathian Mountains. Tours depart London daily now until September. |
