Press Digest 1st May 2007

Hurrah, Hurrah the 1st of May, outdoor sex begins today!

However, despite climate change, here in Northumberland those feeling frisky might be well advised to exercise self-control till local temperatures catch up with the sunny south.

A friend of mine, from 'the old days' rang this morning. An ex-gold smuggler, he's lately adopted northerly climes. Escaping the heat? Perhaps. However, from our conversation it seems that Northumberland may have simply been a trial for long term domicile in Canada's 'great white north'. I'll have to look out my Bob & Doug McKenzie album for him. Like Bob & Doug themselves, some things seem a good idea at the time. The time being that period following consumption of enough beer to fill a Great Lake.

So for his benefit and for your bemusement this week's website of the week offers rare insight on Canadian humour ... The Great White North

The first two tracks are enough.

Good Day eh...

Take Off...

Nick

Beyond the city limits, Iceland is justifiably renowned for its geology, encompassing the third biggest geothermal zone, dramatic volcanic scenery, green valleys and ice-blue glaciers. Follow the route of the mighty Skafta River and trek through a kingdom of multiple craters, reflective lakes, great canyons and looming volcanoes during Walks Worldwide’s 10-day guided Geothermal Wonderwalk, departing London 5th July and 2nd August 2007.
