Good Afternoon,In the vein of a student life that many were not old enough to live, or too well connected to endure, a mass squat by artists and their associates has been visited on the Greek Revivalist chasm of Northumberland's Belsay Hall.However, those temporarily occupying Belsay's austere empty halls have nought to fear from English Heritage storm troopers - though it might be a different story with the Trusties... Picture House Film Art and Design at Belsay, follows from 2004's excellent Fashion and sees innovative use of a space destined by deed of covenant to remain empty in perpetuity. From Viktor & Rolf's shining silver mannequin to Mike Figgis's film and art installation, Sandy Powell's Peepshow and a remarkable bedroom forest from Geraldine Pilgrim, Belsay's many corridors are intriguingly inhabited once more.If you can ignore the sour glances from over-serious duffle coats and berets, take the kids too!
