INTRODUCTION TO POLO
Ever fancied having a go at polo? Here’s your chance. Learn specialist polo skills, practice stick and ball techniques, play some chukkas and extend your equestrian skills during Equine Adventure’s 10-day Introduction to Polo holiday based at the beautiful Estancia Los Potreros in the Cordoba region of Argentina. Departs London 1st to 5th December 2007.
Situated amongst the healthy air of the Sierra Chicas lying 3,000ft between the pampas and the Andes, at the heart of the Cordoba region, the exclusive Estancia Los Potreros offers breathtaking views. Begin the holiday with a private airport transfer to the estancia, owned by the same Anglo-Argentine family for four generations. Take full advantage of superb riding and walking, and even help the gauchos in their daily work with 6,000-head of cattle. Throughout the stay, riders take daily polo sessions, consisting of stick and ball practice, followed by some chukkas, each day focussing on particular skills, tactics and rules of the game. There will also be opportunities to receive tuition and play with a professional player before showing off new skills during an in-house, no-pressure tournament at the end of the holiday! During time away from the Polo field, guests can enjoy other activities including bird watching, stargazing, wine tasting, picnicking, swimming and lazing by the pool. Cuisine has an Argentine flavour and is prepared by an excellent cook utilising estancia produce. The ranch is known for its exceptional horses, all bred on the estate, including well-mannered and sure-footed Criollos or unique Paso Peruanos who, unlike other horses, can move at canter speed whilst still walking.
The tour costs £2,080 p/p including scheduled flights, transfers, accommodation with all meals at Estancia Los Potreros, riding equipment and guided activities. Suitable for children confident in the saddle.
