Saddle-up for a dream horse-riding holiday in South Africa’s true wilderness area, Songimvelo Game Reserve. Equine Adventures is offering a special £305 p/p discount on 10-day horseback safaris in Songimvelo departing 14th and 21st July and 18th August 2007.
On arrival in Johannesburg, guests are transferred to the Homestead at Dawsons Lodge for their first ride before sundown, returning to the lodge for fine dining and a good night’s sleep in preparation for adventures to come. Heading for the incredible surroundings of Songimvelo Game Reserve, where over the next five days an experienced guide with a great sense of the bush will take riders to explore South Africa’s last true wilderness. With its magnificent mountains and game-filled plains, riders encounter animals such as Elephant, Buffalo, White Rhino, Giraffe and a variety of antelope species. There will be numerous river crossings, often steep climbs and descents and opportunities for some fast riding, so riders do need to be competent at all paces. On the final day, ride into a traditional Swazi village for an afternoon of relaxation in one of the traditional rondavels, and an evening featuring local entertainment and superb Swazi-style cuisine.
The safari now costs £2,240 p/p (brochure price £2,545 p/p) including scheduled international flights, transfers, camp accommodation, all meals, horse, tack and expertly guided activities. Due to the nature of the terrain and wildlife encountered this is for intermediate or experienced riders.
Ride only now costs £1,250 p/p (normally £1,400 p/p).
