SAVE 280 P/P!!! TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO EASTERN CARIBBEAN SPECIAL
T & T’, as it’s commonly known, is the ideal place for a twin-centre holiday with two very distinct but complementary experiences to offer. Trips Worldwide combines stays amongst the former sugar, cocoa, coffee and coconut plantations of Trinidad’s Asa Wright Nature Centre and the Atlantic coast of Tobago, during a 14-night holiday saving £280 p/p and including a free guided tour of Oillbird Colony at Dunstons Cave, departing Gatwick daily June, September and October 2007. (Other dates available)
The first 7-nights are spent at one of Trinidad’s prime attractions - the world famous Asa Wright Nature Centre. Set amongst former cocoa, coffee and citrus plantations, the 80-hectare reserve is surrounded by impressive rainforest offering numerous hiking trails and glimpses of Trinidad’s resident flora and fauna, including 97 native mammals, 400 birds, 55 reptiles, 25 amphibians, and 617 butterflies, as well as over 2,200 species of flowering plants! Take a free guided tour of the Oilbird Colony at Dunstons Cave, a beautiful riverside grotto, breeding colony for the elusive nocturnal Guacharo, or Oillbird, one of the only birds in the world to use echolocation. Relax on the veranda with a complimentary evening rum-punch before enjoying a delicious mix of West Indian, Creole, Oriental, Indian, and European dishes, from the award-winning restaurant. The second centre for the holiday is Blue Waters Inn on Tobago’s Atlantic sea front, just outside the small fishing village of Speyside. Again just in the heart of an estate that saw cultivation for cocoa, sugar, rubber, nutmeg as well as coffee and coconuts. The hotel has 38 rooms all facing the sea, a good restaurant and on-site dive shop. Just off the coast lies Goat Island and Little Tobago, the latter a noted seabird sanctuary. The coral reefs around these islands are some of the most exotic in Tobago, offering superb diving and snorkelling. Behind the Inn is Tobago’s highest point, Pigeon Peak ~620m. However, Speyside is very quiet and guests may choose to do little except relax and ‘lime’ – a Tobago word for sitting with a drink, chatting with friends and watching life go by…
The holiday costs £1,575 p/p (was £1,855p/p) including direct flights from Gatwick (BA), transfers, inter-Island flights (Tobago Express), 7-nights full board hotel accommodation at Asa Wright with evening rum-punch and guided tour of Oilbird Colony and 7-nights B&B hotel accommodation at Blue Waters Inn.
