LUNCH IN YOUR OWN TENT IN LIBYA
& MINGLE WITH SOME BIG NAMES IN SOUTH AFRICA
ON THE BLAIR TRAIL

Lunching with Colonel Gadafi in his tent in the desert is not included in Walks Worldwide’s itinerary (it’s not even an optional extra), but it was the first stop on Tony Blair’s African farewell tour that also included a visit to South Africa to bid ‘au revoir’ to former president Nelson Mandela.  Next of course in Tony Blair’s busy schedule, was the G8 Summit in Germany.  If you would like to follow in the footsteps of our departing PM, Walks Worldwide offers adventurous tours in all three countries, including an opportunity to lunch in your own tent in Libya and mingle with some big names in Africa!

LIBYA - Libyan Explorer:  9-day fully guided tour departing London 17th October 07.
Closed to western tourism for decades, Libya is one of the last undiscovered countries on the Mediterranean.  Discover remarkable Roman cities, a long and fertile coastline, and in the interior, Jebel Acacus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, comparable to Jordan’s Wadi Rum.
The tour costs £1,395 p/p including scheduled flights, all transport, hotel and camping accommodation, most meals and expert guiding.

SOUTH AFRICA - Trekking in the Drakensberg:  16-day fully guided tour departing London 10th November 07 & 15th March 08.
Staying in two different locations in the mighty Kwa-Zulu Natal province allows walkers to experience the spectacular Drakensberg mountain range in its entirety.  The tour also visits Swaziland and the Maloltja Reserve for some gentler hiking, before entering the fabulous Kruger National Park to experience memorable guided walking amongst the big names in African wildlife.
The tour costs £2,295 p/p including scheduled flights, transfers, hotel, lodge and chalet accommodation, some meals and expert guiding.

GERMANY – Saxony’s Sandstone Mountains:  9-day self-guided tour departing London now until September 07.
Somewhere a bit different in the heart of Europe!  Situated in the southeastern area of Germany, bordering the Czech Republic, walkers get to explore both countries.  Towering fortresses and incredible rock formations dominate the landscape, whilst picturesque small towns line the river, creating a very attractive and varied walking experience.
The tour costs from £875 p/p including scheduled flights, accommodation in 3* hotels, some meals, luggage transfers, train tickets to Bad Schandau, maps and route notes.
